Cause of Canonization:

Beatified: September 23, 2017,  in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, his home archdiocese, where his Cause of Canonization was opened.

Martyrdom Recognized: December 2, 2016,  Pope Francis recognized the martyrdom of Father Stanley Rother of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, making him the first martyr born in the United States. The recognition of his martyrdom clears the way for his beatification.

The best points were put to gather to support the thesis of Father Rother’s martyrdom, telling about his life ministry and death.

Archdiocesan phase closed: July 20, 2010, the documentation was sealed and sent to the Congregation for the Cause of Saints in the Vatican.

Cause of Canonization opened: October 5, 2010 the Cause was opened and the commission we sworn in at Holy Trinity Church, Okarche, Oklahoma, Father Rother’s home parish.
